Type: Commercial / Branded Content
Tone: Comedic, Playful, Energetic
Location Focus: Southeastern U.S. Market
When Regional Homes approached us to create a commercial for their Summer Sales Event, we pitched something a little different: a comedic, offbeat concept that would not only showcase the value of their homes—but actually make people laugh while doing it. Enter: “Surprise Money.”
This two-day production was shot with a full commercial crew and a talented comedic duo: Joey Thompson, a well-known comedian from Greenville, South Carolina, and his hilarious co-star Jo. Together, they brought energy, wit, and perfect timing to a quirky concept built around one simple idea:
What if buying a home from Regional Homes meant finding money in the weirdest places?
🤑 The Concept
In the world of this ad, every part of the house becomes a treasure hunt.
• Money in the litter box.
• Money in a banana.
• Money raining out of the shower head.
• Money in the cereal.
• Even money hidden inside a roll of toilet paper.
Each gag was shot with cinematic lighting, tight comedic timing, and a wink to classic sketch-style humor—designed to feel like a viral video that just happens to also sell homes.
Production Highlights
• 2-day shoot across multiple real home locations
• Full crew: director, DP, gaffer, audio tech, PA, and art department
• Talent from the Southeast: featuring comedians Joey Thompson and Jo
• Quick turn-around editing for regional broadcast and social media use
• Shot with a cinematic look, but paced like sketch comedy
The Results
The final piece is a fast-paced, funny, and unexpectedly memorable ad that sets Regional Homes apart from traditional real estate marketing. It stands as a perfect example of how Cactus Cut blends cinematic visuals with unexpected storytelling to help brands in the modular home and prefab housing industry reach modern buyers across the Southeast.
