When tragedy struck and the Ward family lost their home, they didn’t just lose a house. They lost years of memories, comfort, and stability. What came next was a journey of rebuilding, resilience, and rediscovery. Their story was featured on the hit Discovery Channel series Homestead Rescue and eventually brought them to a brand-new beginning with Regional Homes of North Carolina.

This emotional short film captures the full circle of their experience, from the heartbreak of loss to the joy of finally coming home.

Their Story

Early in the year, our production team traveled to North Carolina to document the behind-the-scenes filming of Homestead Rescue featuring the Ward family. On set, we witnessed their determination to start over despite immense challenges. The Wards’ story stood out as one of courage and faith, showing a family committed to rebuilding their life together.

Months later, after their new Regional Home had been delivered and the family was settled in, we returned to capture the other side of their journey. Morning coffee on the porch, laughter in the kitchen, quiet moments in the living room — all the pieces that make a house a home.

Through heartfelt interviews and cinematic footage, the Wards shared how Regional Homes helped them rebuild not just a house, but a sense of peace and belonging.

“We lost everything. But Regional Homes gave us more than a roof. They gave us a place to start over.”

A Journey of Rebuilding

After losing their home, the Wards appeared on Homestead Rescue for help getting back on their feet. The experience opened a new chapter in their lives.

When they connected with Regional Homes of North Carolina, they found a team that cared as much about people as they did about quality homes. With honest communication, clear pricing, and a fast move-in timeline, the Wards were able to create a new home faster than they ever thought possible.

Today, their home feels like theirs in every way. It is warm, inviting, and filled with laughter, family dinners, and the comfort that only comes after overcoming something hard.

Behind the Production

This story was filmed in two parts to show the complete transformation. The first shoot took place on the Homestead Rescue set, capturing the behind-the-scenes experience as the Wards rebuilt. Later in the fall, we returned for a follow-up shoot featuring interviews and lifestyle footage of the family in their finished Regional Home.

Filming across these two seasons created a powerful visual and emotional contrast — from the raw work of recovery to the peace of life after the storm. The production blends documentary authenticity with cinematic storytelling, giving viewers an honest and uplifting look into what it means to rebuild through Regional Homes.
